Not so... cut & dry

I spent the afternoon with a group of friends, we were 5 in number 3 girls and 2 guys, the conversation traveled the slippery sloppy road of the weather,to places, politics, events, people, music and finally shot down to relationships.

Why do men cheat?

The guys contended that, men since time memorial have been polygamous by nature. If anything, monogamy is the exception and not the rule. A look at the Biblical great men says it all, hell Solomon had 700 wives and 300 concubines.
However my question then is, was that the true intention of God?_ how come he did not make a multitude of Eves for Adam then?
They muddied the waters, by shifting gears from Christianity to Islam_ , we limited our comeback to different strokes for different people.

Then came the lame justification about variety being the spice of life. In that case if a woman also decides she’s bored with the same old light soup, and would like her some peanut soup, shouldn't that fly?

Of cos they found it totally unacceptable_ double standards rules

Lastly came the blame card; about how women push them into the arms of other women and on and on they went…

Why do women cheat?
We argued that unlike men it is “normally” not in our nature_ but of cos there are exceptions. However, should a woman cheat on her man, the problem is mostly because of the man_ he must have stopped loving her, or simply has not mastered the art of loving her_ of cos they wasted no time in butchering us lol

Nobody wakes up in the morning and decides, "today is the day i'm going to cheat". I don't believe it is ever a calculated venture from the inception.

It starts with the innocent hello, which ends up in hell, and now that the cell phone has evolved into a compressed laptop, social networking has never been more easy. So if you are spending too much time strolling down digital Memory Lane, an emotional affair could be in the works_ you are a human being, are you not?

What started as a match of wits ends up in one partner sharing himself or herself with another person, which chips away the foundation of core relationship, creating a platform for a new one.

A friendly relationship snowballs into something more meaningful, a feeling of connection with that other person which supersedes a current relationship.

Lets beware of the dangers.

Why are we so afraid of change? The present is no good, yet we stay
Are we so scared of what is out there, that we would rather not explore
Maybe its because change might be for the worst, so we stick with the worse
The lesser evil we call it, what the hell is that?
Shouldn’t what we fear be fear itself?

Read the sign

NYC is sprouting with Africans at every corner, and for some reason you would think each persons nationality is imprinted on their foreheads or something, cos you just know.

So when picking up my medical report, and this brother accidentally or calculatedly bumped into me and sent my envelop flying. I noticed two things_ that he was totally hott, nice teeth, but the first thought was that he looked Ghanaian.

So when he apologized in his LAFA_ locally acquired fake accent, my hand was on the money_ oh! I’m sorry_ could not escape the deep rooted Ghanaian accent, and my “ Its okay” must have been splotched with the same inescapable root, because the next line was; I’m Kobby_ and here I thought I looked kind of exotic or Nigerian lol

*turned out we went to the same college_ small world*

What is it?

At this stage in my life, you would think i know exactly what i want, i could close my eyes and just map out my future for the next couple of years_ Yes! the future they say is unknown, but seriously we all should have an idea of what we're looking forward to, right?

Sadly, things don't seem to work out the way it should. Maybe i become too comfortable, kick back and expect stuff to fall in place.

And when i pour my heart and soul into it, it blows up in my face, now i'm left wondering_ what is it i'm doing so wrong?

I got questions on my mind, and the answers seem gazillions miles away...

To plan or not to plan?
